Parts of School Lane and Burnthouse Lane will be closed at times between 18/08 and 22/08 for installation of the 20mph zone. The two roads will not be both closed at the same time and access to properties will be maintained. Hopefully, the junction of Colney Lane and the B1172 will be open by then and that will reduce the traffic trying to come through LM.
EDP LGR articleEarly in 2025 the national government proposed that Norfolk should be reorganized into one or more Unitary Authorities (UA). At the same time, government proposed a Mayor for Norfolk and Suffolk. These two proposals are independent.
Colney Lane will be closed at the junction with the B1172 from 07/04 to 09/06 for installation of traffic lights. The diversion is via the B1108 but the closure is likely to cause additional traffic through LM. The traffic lights should make it easier to join the B1172, when the job is finished, they were expected to have been installed several years ago!
These works have overrun and are now continuing to August!!! There are overnight (21:00 to 5:00) closures of the B1172 between 16/06 and 21/06.
