ParishPitSignThe 'Hethersett' Parish Pit is now in the parish of Little Melton, after the parish boundary changed in 2019. It is a strange and beautiful place, with bluebells blooming right now. But it attracts some visitors who leave their rubbish behind. Others clear it away regularly but there is enough to make a group litter pick worth doing.   We are planning to pick litter on Saturday 22nd May between 10:00 and 12:00.

It's steep sided and brambly so not suitable for the unsteady and children would need parental supervision. We have bags and litter pickers but please make sure you have good footwear, gloves and consider goggles to protect your eyes. Face masks would probably still be a good idea. We will aim to maintain social distancing - hugs for close family members only!

Please email Sue Vaughan at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. if you would like to join the pick, with details of what equipment you have. We will meet at the Hethersett Pit sign on the permissive footpath - see arrow on map below.   There will be space for some cars to park at Beckhithe.
