Little Melton Parish Council

Litter Picking

On the last Saturday in March and October (the same weekend that the clocks change) a group of volunteers assemble at the Village Hall at 11:00 and spend about an hour picking up litter from around the village.    Most of the litter is thrown from passing cars,  the top of Green Lane is usually worst.   It is generally accepted that people are less likely to drop litter if a place looks well cared for - so it is important to keep on top of the problem.

The Parish Council provides bags, reflective waistcoats and litter pickers.   Please come along and help - wear gloves and stout footwear.   We meet afterwards at the Village Inn.
